'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Litmanen and a Slice of Humble Pie!

It sort of makes you wonder what might have been!

Sat watching Wales v Finland this afternoon, it became blatantly obvious that, even at the age of thirty-eight, Jari Litmanen could still strut his stuff.

Now many of you may remember that Jari was signed by Roy Hodgson last season but due to an awful run of injuries never featured in a single match for us.

Many of us laughed at his signing and after his departure lamented how it had been a ludicrous signing.

Well today I`d like to openly admit I was wrong.

Roy Hodgson knew exactly what Litmanen could do and if he`d have been given a chance and had been fully fit, who knows, he might have been a revelation.

I have always recognised his ability, and approved of it. However, with injury problems like his, there were no other options but to show him the door really!

He was very impressive today, him and murphy could've made a truly creative midfield - we bit liverpooly though...

What did I say before, Hodgson's best signing. Didn't even play last year but kept us up.
