'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Enigma that is David Healy!

I suppose one day someone will sit down and come up with a logical reason.

A reason that will explain why David Healy promised so much in his career but only fired in fits and starts.

Okay, he may have set a scoring record in the qualification campaign for the last EURO`s but since then it has been blank.

Sold by Fulham a new start at Sunderland was supposed to kick start his carer - it hasn`t.

On the international front the goals have dried up as the Irish seek to qualify for the World Cup.

However, our own Aaron Hughes is expecting matters to change, remarking,

"David has been fine in training this week. Perhaps he has been a bit unlucky at Sunderland."

"Everyone in Northern Ireland knows what he is capable of. If we give him the right service, he will find the net."

"He is a goalscorer, first and foremost and we hope he will keep it going for us."

"I`m sure he is looking forward to starting a game at this level again."

Although he`s no longer one of ours, I must admit I`d be pleased to see his name on the score sheet again, wouldn`t you?

I suppose a return to international form would be nice. As long as he sticks to his non-scoring patterns for Sunderland, I'll be happy!

Same really, I am guessing his wage demands would have been pretty hefty with Sanchez giving money away!!
