Your Fulham MOTM Against United!

Man of the match polls can give strange results!

Yesterday, almost straight after the dust had settle don our win over Manchester United, here at Vital Fulham, we asked you to vote for your man of the match.

Obviously there were some fine candidates and a little part of me regrets not putting an option in that would have allowed for a vote for everyone involved.

Nevertheless, I`m not going to argue with the winner.

Mark Schwarzer polled 43% to walk away with the accolade and after his fine second half performance where he turned back tide after tide of United attacks I`m not sure anyone would argue to vociferously.

In second place, Zoltan Gera polled 34% of the vote, a respectable total that would on some other occasions have seen him emerge victorious.

But what galls me is that Danny Murphy polled as little as 8% of the vote, is this the same Danny that probed, passed and condemned United to a first forty-five minutes of hell?

Like I said poll results can be very strange.

Murphy got mine, i cant believe that more people voted for Gera on a Man of the MATCH performance. Sure he buried that goal beautifully but i still think it was Danny who led the charge! Schwarzer and Davies had quality games too

without danny getting us into a position to defend from, schwarzer's saves wouldn't have nearly as important... ultimately it doesn't matter, we just took man u for all 3 points!

Obviously votes from the heart and not the head. Realistically no-one who plays for 15 minutes can be man MOTM unless he scores a hat-trick for a 3-2 win. I was pleased to see him score so well tho, as it must be frustrating to be sub so much now. I've been a critic of MS but he was immense on Saturday and got my vote.

the best player won - without his contribution we'd have been stuffed!
