Fulham - Shock, Horror, Johnson Scores!

Nestling amongst the sports pages this morning is a little article that may interest Fulham supporters.

It relates to Eddie Johnson, the American striker we signed from Kansas City Wizards just over a year ago, the forward who in six games for Fulham failed to score, the forward who was loaned out to Cardiff City this season and who failed to set Ninian Pak alight, well he has now!

The forward who, reputedly, cost £3 million finally opened his account for Cardiff with a cracking gaol at Ninian Park on Saturday.

The goal prompted Eddie to comment,

"I`ve scored goals for my country so I knew I was capable of scoring over here too. Every American players dream is to play against the best."

"I`d love to get a few goals to take Cardiff into the Premier League."

Here at Vital Fulham we reckon its wishful thinking on both accounts don`t you?

Pleased for Johnson. By all accounts, he's a good guy. Dave Jones was very complementary of him after the match. May have just been the obligatory pat on the back, though. I don't think Cardiff is coming up. Nor do I think Johnson is top-flight material, but here's hoping he makes an impact during the remainder of Cardiff's season. If for no other reason than perhaps we can recoup some of the money we paid by selling him to Cardiff or another Championship club. Haven't heard anything more about the Malmo link.

Malmo link, that will be the bridge which connects it with Copenhagen, a former club of Hodgson. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oresund_Bridge

You know what they say - if you play long enough you'll eventually score - well Eddie did.

I still don't believe he scored. Post a link to the video or I will stay in denial. OK - maybe that is a bit harsh, but EJ was never one for the Prem and still isn't. Glad he put one in though. Let's see if it gives his confidence a boost.
