'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Hodgson on Last Night!

I`m putting last night down as just one of those nights.

Perhaps, subconsciously, the players were thinking of Saturday and the epic FA Cup Quarter-Final with Manchester United. Nevertheless, the refusal of the blatant penalty claim when Bobby Zamora was fouled by Kevin Kilbane still rankles this morning.

There`s no doubt a penalty, at that stage of the game, would probably have altered the outlook dramatically. After the game, Roy spoke about that matter and also how he perceived the game went commenting,

"I`d rather have answered that question if we had won the game."

"But now we`ve lost I think I`ll let other people decide whether it`s a penalty or not."

"This is the ultimate football nightmare that you have to live through. I felt hard done by."

"We broke them down sufficiently to score a goal. Their keeper certainly made very good saves and they had goal line clearances."

"To lose in the 92nd minute is very hard to take but it happens all the time in football."

It`s all part of attending the school of hard knocks that Roy has witnessed, first hand on many occasions. The secret is to not get all bitter and twisted!

But it still rankles!

Terribly disappointed, but to be fair, it's just one match. However, I'm now officially unconcerned about the FA Cup. I'm only concerned with taking full points from Blackburn next Wednesday. I don't care if ManU beats us 10-0. I just want to stay out of the relegation mess in the bottom half of the table.

I'm worried this could signal a downturn in form!

i think as long as we take one win out of the next two matches it will do bundles for assuring and failing confidences...

Just one of those games. We outplayed them and according to Sky, we had 65% of the possession. The only concern I have is the fact that AJ and Zamora aren't putting their chances away, AJ especially, after the Arsenal game where he struggled to hit the target. We forked out big money for a striker that can convert chances. If he was red hot we'd be safe now.

Well.........Utd tearing you apart was pretty much expected so no surprise there to be honest......can you get back and grind out some results now ??......can your strikers score when they gett the chances they do and fail to take.......its gonna be a great final few matches to the end of the season.....good luck....
