Fulham - Hodgson Fears over Squad Size!

There`s six more points to snap up for Fulham to reach that much-fabled forty point mark, the mythical milestone whereby relegation fears can be cast adrift.

A win against Hull City tonight should move Fulham to within one further win of reaching that figure, unfortunately, there are lingering doubts amongst the management team that the size of our squad could still handicap us as we not only seek to dismiss any fears of relegation but to clamber to clamber as high up the table as possible, even sneaking a UEFA Cup place if things go our way.

But returning to the squad, this is what Roy had to say at his usual pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of Hull,

"It`s the size of the squad which bothers me. We lost a few men in the transfer window and didn`t have a big squad anyway."

"We had as many as six or seven go, with only two or three in. Since then we`ve had a couple of injuries."

"If I knew we could keep the same team every week. I`d be confident. But we`re on that knife-edge that if we lost a couple of players we don`t quite have the same capacity to replace them as other teams."

All we can add is that we can only hope that good fortune continues to favour us at least for the next couple of months.

i think it is ok to have a small squad, as once we pass the 40 mark, we can give the youngsters a chance, and a few have already proved themselves i think!!

I agree, let's get past 40 and relax, the UEFA Cup could be a step too far!

Well why don't we ever give Julian Gray much of a chance, dunno how many of you were up at the 1st leg of the Swansea match but for the little time he had I thought he showed signs of creativity and a bit of pace and he aint exactly gettin any younger... same with rob. milsom and some of the others... but yeah i agree with you all, bring on Europe!
