'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scotland Moving To England from Wales?

If the 'Daily Grapevine` is correct the impressive performances, against us, by Jason Scotland have alerted Roy Hodgson to the possibility of signing him.

The striker, who has netted a staggering 48 goals since joining Swansea, notching 14 in 16 games this season alone is, according to some news agencies, being watched by Wigan and us.

The downside is that he`s on a long contract and at 30 isn`t getting any younger. But, if Roy can snatch him form the clutches of Swansea and bring him to Craven Cottage for a fee somewhere in the region of £3 - £4 million would you consider that a good bit of business?

maybe...he is quite old but he could be the perfect type of striker, as he isn't similar to either johnson or zamora, he would give us another side to our play. i say go for it.....not too expensive though!!

Good point but we need a striker who can and will use his head. Cos yeh Zamora is tall but he doesn't get up for the ball... but still aslong as hodgson just tells them not to put alot in the air ... good potential buy!

and he definitely showed us and specifically hughes that he can play with the ball at his feet in the box VERY well... i wouldn't mind having him as long as he's not our number 1 striker... unless he proves himself as such in the premiership that is...

Too old, I'm afraid. I think it's bad business recruiting 30 year old strikers from the Championship in hopes they'll be a success in the top-flight. Besides, surely 4m could land us someone like Felipe Caicedo - a 20 year old with at least as much potential.

By the way, on the striker front, SkySports is indicating that NEC cut the loan deal short and sent Collins John back to us. He's only 23 and has had some success with us. I wonder if Roy could help him turn his career around.

well said sam. would rather take a chance on caicedo than scotland. we'll need some more bodies if we have to travel to europe next season.
