Fulham - Barnes Influential in Reserves Win!

The fight to get Giles Barnes, our loan signing from Derby County, fit enough to try and influence Roy Hodgson`s first team selection this season continues in earnest.

Barnes was given a full ninety minute run out with the reserves as they overwhelmed Arsenal reserves 3-0 (and there were we thinking Arsene`s kids were special?).

More importantly though Barnes managed to score his first goal in a Fulham shirt in the fixture at Motspur Park, the third after goals from Adam Wyatt and Diomansy Kamara had ended any Arsenal resistance.

With Roy Hodgson watching I wonder if Barnes has edged a little closer to the first team squad?

I was there and I didnt see Hodgson watching. Did see Ray Lewington in and around the tunnel and bench. Barnes was great though. Really impressive.

Kamara looked like he was making up the numbers but he came in with a sweat on at half time. Good he is out there getting game time and trying to get sharper because he needs it. He missed a one on one but scored a goal. Briggs is a real talent. Looked comfortable with the ball at his feet.
