Hodgson, Bullard, Fulham & That Injury?

With Jimmy Bullard sidelined for the rest of the season, and probably beyond, questions are inevitably being asked about whether the injury was lingering in the background when Bullard made his move to Hull.

In other words, did Fulham know?

Well, scouring the various news agencies you come across two differing views.

The first, suggested by several sites, implies that the injury manifested itself when Bullard took a knock playing those only thirty-seven minutes he has done so far in a Hull shirt.

But, if you delve into an article published by the Daily Mail there is further intrigue added to the plot with Roy Hodgson remarking,

'It's sad news about Jimmy Bullard.'

'He injured his groin on Boxing Day and that was affecting him, but when he started to train again he mentioned there was a slight tweak in the knee and he wasn't so comfortable with it."

'He played 25 minutes for Hull against West Ham and I can only presume that has either exacerbated the injury or created an entirely new problem."

'I and everyone at Fulham would like to wish him a speedy recovery and I hope he can show the guts and character that he did to get back last time."

'He's going to need to as another long injury means he's going to have to work very hard, and it's not going to be easy having been out for 18 months before.'

A slight tweak! Did that set the wheels in motion for the latest horror Jimmy has suffered? Or is it merely a coincidence?

Your thoughts!

Hogdson isn't stupid, he'd have found it very easy to turn down Bullard's greedy demands. This was always a confusing move for everyone except Hodgson. Bullard was taking a step down ffrom Fulham because money's more important to him, Hull spent £5m on a 30 year old with dodgy knees- and with Bullard's style dodgy knees will inhibit the way he plays. Plus, Hull haven't got insurance on him. Hodgson has played a blinder here.
