Fulham - Supreme Optimism From Roy Hodgson!

With less than a couple of hours to go until kick-off time the nerves are really kicking in.

Our humble Fulham are about to take on the club champions of the world, the immovable object that is Manchester United.

Looking at our abysmal away record I`d hazard a guess that most of the bookmakers are giving us no chance of pulling off a shock. But Roy Hodgson, caught in a jovial mood in his pre-match interview, refuses to be downbeat and provided the perfect antidote for those fearing the worst when he declared,

"Wouldn`t it be strange if their clean-sheet record is broken by Fulham, whose record of scoring goals away from home is very poor?"

"It would be even more amazing if we whacked four or five past them, but sometimes miracles do happen."

"We surprised everyone by staying up last season; perhaps we`ll surprise people again by getting a goal at Old Trafford. We`ve performed well enough away, but just not been lucky enough to get that decisive goal."

I`m not sure if Roy's remarks were made with his tongue firmly in his cheek or whether we should call out the shrinks?

I think he's right 4 or 5 nil will do me! but seriously, i really think we can provide a shock here....1-0 to the whites!!

I'm enjoying the positive attitude. I think it'll be very hard to keep out Man U at home from the scoring sheet though. I see a 2-1 win to Fulham. Hopefully that is!
