Fulham - Is Roy Just Not an Away Person?

Our mediocre, to put it mildly, away form continues to trouble us.

On Wednesday we travel to Old Trafford and in all honesty it will be a 'Theatre of Dreams` if we manage to come back with even a point against a side who have kept clean sheets in a dozen Premier League games on the trot.

But, something inside me is starting to dictate to my thoughts that some things are just not meant to be, that winning away from home is something that will not happen to us.

Amazingly, Roy, whilst in charge of Halmsteds, had a similar experience describing it as below,

"Our away record will come to haunt us until we start winning."

"I remember when I was at Halmstads we had two years without winning away. It goes that way. One day, the day will come."

Will it? Two years is a hell of long time Roy!

It is not good. I remember being so optimistic near the start of the season thinking of europe. But if we can't win away, europe is a far gone conclusion.

Although the away form does still trouble and bother me I am still optimistic. It takes time, and I believe we have already seen slight improvements in away games (minus Swansea), towards the end of the season we will get those away wins and maintain a comfortable mid-table spot. :)

I hope so but I'm fearful of Wednesday!

I'm not convinced that this wasn't Roy's plan from the start. We look so good at home, and so poor away. It's just too much of a difference in form not to be orchestrated (to some level). As long as our home form remains strong, I don't think you'll see a change in our away form. I think we'll play conservative until we reach the magic 40 point mark. Then we can breath easy, and Roy might be more inclined to take some risks on the road.

when you put it like that sam, i see what you mean. wait til 40 points and then experiment.....didn't see it like that...well done!!

away draws can either be frustrating of exhilirating... it would be VERY nice to get some wins away from home, but right now we're in a good spot in the table and i'd like to keep it that way. come on FULham, let's take it to united!

Carbz, it's the same in the U.S. I have to go to a bar to see the match and I'm sure to be surrounded by bandwagon United fans.
