Fulham to End Van der Sar Record Hopes?

It`s a strange world!

Here we are devoid, well almost, of any goals on the road yet we now stand in the way of one of our ex-players, Edwin van der Sar, putting his name well and truly in the record books.

After setting a domestic record (English and Scottish) with his shut-out against West Ham United on Sunday, the giant keeper only needs to keep a clean sheet for another 63 minutes to erase the name of Abel Resino from the record books.

Resino, who kept goal for Atletico Madrid, is the current world record holder for keeping consecutive clean sheets.

Now would it be a little poetic justice if the team Edwin left became the tea that deprived him of that unique record?

How about Bobby Zamora rattling the net at Old Trafford, a week on Wednesday, with a sixtieth minute strike?

Like we all know, football can be such a cruel game!

As much as I'd love for us to halt the streak, I think the safe move is to park the bus in front of goal and try to protect our goal differential with another one of our patented 0-0 draws.

I'd be delighted if that happened, not because it will ruin his record hopes, but because we scored away!!

while i would love a draw, we played arsenal well this year, and it would be too poetic to net a goal before the 63rd minute. i could see something like this happenning...
