Fulham - The Zamora Reaction

It was noticeable, on Saturday, that when Erik Nevland came on to replace Bobby Zamora, our summer signing from West Ham United received a far from appreciative reaction from some sections of the Craven Cottage crowd.

It`s a reaction that was picked up on by Roy Hodgson who commented,

"The fans are very harsh on players sometimes."

"We believe there is more to come from Bobby and Andy Johnson and we believe they`ve done a very good job together."

"It`s just a question of whether you`re prepared to see the team as a team or if you want to judge an individual on the amount of goals he`s scored."

So come on lads, let`s get behind everyone of our players ad leave the barracking for the opposition!

Well said Putney!! I dont like boo boys!! Yes....he didnt play well, but he is our player and booing him really aint gunna help!!

THE MAIN POINT I SEE IN ZAMORA IS THAT HES STRONG AND CAN GET THE BALL INTO JOHNSON. ALSO, THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I SEE FULHAM GET STUCK IN THE BOX AND ZAMORA WITH HIS STRENGTH GETS IT BACK OUT WIDE THATS AN IMPORTANT STRENTGH. SO WE KNOW HE MAY NOT HAVE SCORED BUT HE HELPS MAINLY MAKING SURE FULHAM GET BACK INTO A SCORING POSITION WHEN IN TROUBLE. WHAT OTHER PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE DO YOU SEE WHO HAVE THE STRENGTH LIKE THAT? LETS GET BEHIND HIM AND CHANT HIS NAME LIKE WE DO WITH JOHNSON.

the last thing I want to see is his head dropping!
Al Billy
a couple of goals and he'll be as right as rain!
Putney
Commitment is never questioned with Zamora nor ability and thats what annoying. Atleast with Etuhu there is little ability so theres aslong as he gives his best that will be good enough. End of the day hes just as hurt as you or i am because he wants to do well, why wouldnt he hes nt Jermaine Defoe he does care about his club
fulham7
There were howls of frustration when he got dispossessed with only the keeper to beat, he hesitated and the crowd couldn't believe what they were seeing. However when he was subbed no one around me boo-ed him. Anyone who understands anything about football knows that Zamora does an excellent job, he's our Heskey! But, Nevland deserves a start after coming off the bench and doing well
donfulham
he has done a good job holding up play i think he is afall guy for our lack in having wide players who can get the ball into the box where he and andy would score even more goals, until this changes we will struggle to score goals
dan the man
I definately agree, its our lack of width which has cost us in terms of goals this season and Bobby's taking the fall for it. Although there has been a number of times when we've all wanted him to shoot but he hesitates or tries to pick out AJ, I do believe that his hold up and effort has also netted us a good few. As much as i feel Nevland deserves the chance to start - I want B Zam to in the hope that he finally gets his name on the score sheet and gets that all important confidence boost
FFC Daz
confidence is more important than we all realize, and booing never helps that... if you want to see how confidence plays into a player production, look at carlton cole... how many goals did he have on the trot?
woodysweats
there were very very few boos, i think maybe from high up in the Hammersmith section..from what I heard it was more of a bigger applause to see Nevland coming on rather than booing Zamora
In Pantsil I Trust
