'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Nevland on those Two Goals!

It was great to see our Norwegian striker, Erik Nevland, come on and do the business on Saturday.

It`s fair to say that Erik, whenever he`s called upon, has always given his all.

His two finishes on Saturday were classy and with Bobby Zamora misfiring there`s a possibility that Erik could have secured a starting place next weekend when we visit Wigan.

After the game, Erik discussed his contribution and his role at the club, commenting,

"It was good to get two goals and if I score every time I come off the bench that is okay."

"I am a football player and I want to start so, in that respect, it is a bit disappointing."

"But we have two great strikers in Bobby and Andy so I have to be patient. The main thing is for us to be safe in the Premier League."

"I don`t understand why our strikers would get stick but it was nice for me to score. I have proved I can score at this level."

"Today was not hard as the way Portsmouth played made it easy in terms of space to run into."

Erik Nevland, an unsung hero!
