'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - A Tale of Two Camps!

Following on from the emphatic 3-1 win over Portsmouth yesterday, it really is a tale of two camps.

In the Fulham camp Roy Hodgson had a lot to be pleased about and in his obligatory post match interview spoke about the positive side of things commenting,

"I thank Andy Johnson and Erik Nevland for their quality finishes. It`s one thing to get beyond defenders and another to put the ball in the net."

"Nevland has always been very honest and technically very good."

"He played some cameo roles in our fight for survival last year and never once has he failed to respond when needed."

"Today was the right moment to send him on because Zamora`s confidence was affected and it was the right time to take him off. I feel sorry for Tony Adams. It`s not easy to deal with playing well and losing 3-1."

Unfortunately, the view from the opposite camp isn`t so positive with many journalists implying that Tony Adams may have selected his last Portsmouth side, nevertheless, in his post match interview, he too had some valid points remarking,

"We missed Sol Campbell today. We made mistakes and gambled on a few offsides. I`d be upset looking at my defence if I was a former centre forward, let alone a central defender."

"It`s a tough period. But I`m not interested in bad luck. We must try and improve defensively."

I have this nagging feeling that Tony has this urge to pull on his boots and give it another go! Nothing like showing them how it should be done is there!

Surlky the writing was on the wall for Adams when somebody recalled he cocked up at Wycombe and couldn't cut the mustard!

I applied for the Wycombe job and they chose Adams over me at the time. After they sacked Adams, I told them that it was their fault for overlooking me. I received an apology letter from the chairman. If you want to know my credentials are that 'I am ******** amazing at Championship manager on the PC."
