'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Hodgson on Bullard Sale!

Following the sale of Jimmy Bullard, Roy Hodgson has tried to placate those who see it as a bad day for the club.

I genuinely feel sorry for Roy, he`s a decent guy and watching him give the interview you got the impression he`d have rather kept Jimmy.

But, as he says below, the club had to look at the wider picture,

"It's too easy for fans to say the club should have done more to keep Jimmy.'
'People at the top of the club have to make nuanced decisions."

'They have to look at the wider picture every time there are wage demands or new contract demands."

'We were very fair when it came to Jimmy and we did what we thought was right but we accepted the road he wanted to go down was not where we wanted to go.'

'It wasn't just about his wage demands, it was about the length of contract as well. He wanted a long-term contract."

'I was rather hoping there wouldn't be anyone else out there who would give it to him either."

'Hull came up with the package he was looking for. It's up to us to prove we can be a good team without him.'

Now that is the crux of the matter, can we be good enough to maintain our current position or is it the start of a plunge downwards?

As an admirer of Jimmy Bullard, and a great respector of Fulham, I think this makes sense. Works for all parties. Hodgson's doing very well, as a manager he's really winning people over.

I don't like the fact that a player that in my eyes, has a great passion for football, has left over money issues. But...we live on!! Lets just hope we get michael johnson. Thanks bullard for everything!! Youve been a great servant.

But we do need a like for like replacement, and to get rid of Ethuhu cause he is crap!

I've always rated Andreasen and yet he's been giving interviews that he's unhappy about the playing time he's getting. Ethuhu is a squad player, not a regular. Andranik, I've only really seen him play 45mins in the friendly against Celtic and he hasn't really done much else for us. In fact isn't he injured now? Worryng, worrying times. Potentially just like when we sold Saha, we could nosedive down the table and get sucked right into that relegation battle again.
