Saturday is fast approaching and the small matter of our 4th round FA Cup trip to Kettering beckons.
In all honesty we`ve probably been a little churlish in our build up, putting down the opposition and generally mocking them.
However, as the game gets ever closer, it`s now time to be deadly serious as Kettering Town are no mugs having previously knocked out League Two sides, Notts County and Lincoln City.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Simon Davies has picked up on this train of thought commenting,
'The manager has already been telling us in training that if we go there thinking we're going to have an easy time, we couldn't be further from the truth.'
'If we play like we did against West Ham we're going to be in for a shock. First and foremost in any game of football you've got to compete and, hopefully, after that you can impose your skills and game plan on them."
'Until that happens, we've got to compete and fight them all the way until we can break them down."
'We'll be preparing for this game the same as we do far all games. I've played a few games at their ground for Peterborough reserves - it's a nice stadium and hopefully the pitch won't be too bad."
'We've just got to go there and enjoy it. This is a different game from the norm so if we can go there and show enthusiasm for the challenge and perform to our standards then we should win."
'We've just got to get back to what we're good at which is being strong defensively and trying to hit teams on the break."
'The game is going to be a tricky one, it's potentially a massive banana skin and we've got to be as professional as possible to get the result.'
He`s certainly hit the nail on the head because after the way we`ve carried on, here on Vital Fulham, the last thing we want to be left with is egg all over our faces!
