Fulham - Murphy Deal Extension!

I have to admit that the signing of Danny Murphy was a signing that puzzled me.
His track record, before he joined us, wasn`t particularly impressive, therefore I have to admit I was skeptical about his signing.

It just goes to show how wrong I was.
Since joining us, Danny has shown he`s still a classy operator and it`s great to hear that when his initial contract was drawn up it included a clause whereby if he made a certain number of appearances he`d be given an extension.

Well, according to our sources Danny is just two games away from that extension clause being activated, a clause which we believe will see another season, minimum, at Craven Cottage.

Danny is delighted to have reached that milestone but is also extremely happy with life at Craven Cottage when he remarks, in a recent interview,

'I am part of a club that is progressing and I want to end my career here.'

'If I play a couple more games my contract extends to next year, but at the end of this season I want to sit down and re-negotiate its length.'

I`m sure that if our form for the first half of the season is replicated in the second half the club will be more than willing to sit down with Danny and do a deal.

Danny has done a very good job for us. I would be pleased to see him extend his contract.

Hmm but if we keep him on we wont have room for younger players to break through

his experience will stand us in good stead for when we do blood some youngsters
