John: We were never going down

Fulham striker Collins John has expressed his confidence in the team by making clear that he never expected his team to be relegated this season.

Despite some terrible form of late, Fulham got stuck in at Craven Cottage on Sunday to beat champions Chelsea 1-0.

The win has dismissed any fears that the Whites will be sc**pping to avoid relegation this season and John believes the result is a much more accurate reflection of what Chris Coleman’s side are capable of.

The win took Fulham 11 points clear of the relegation zone, up to 35 points, and with seven games still to play this season, it is looking much more comfortable for the West Londoners after such inconsistent form in the league.

John said: “We were never going down”, he adamantly declared. “The boys in the dressing room have been annoyed because we’ve not played well in the past and yet we dug in against Chelsea to take the three points.

“It was our best performance of the season team-wise we won against the champions- the best team in the country.

“To beat them 1-0 show what we are capable of.”

Never ever in doubt! The way we've played this season we was bound to pick up points eventually. I expect us to go on a run now and leave them four at the bottom to scrap it out between em.

It is more than fair to say we should never been in a position where we had to worry about fighting to avoid relegation. I am glad that we can now start concentrating on moving up the table, very nice to see a clean sheet on the board as well

Leave Zat alone. Fulham's defence as a whole is weak, we are an attack-minded side.
