Roy Hodgson has only been in the job for a year but already he seems to be part of the Fulham furniture.
After saving us from relegation, last season, with the biggest escape we`ve ever known, he`s now engineered us into a good side, a side capable of coping with the best in the Premier League.
After the Chelsea clash, a game where Clint Dempsey rescued a point for us in the dying minutes, Roy appealed for a sense of calm re-iterating there is still a lot of hard work to do this season if all this work performed so far isn`t to count for nothing.
This is what he had to say,
"For the team to kick on from there (the great escape) and finish 2008 in the top half of the table, we`ve got to be very satisfied with that. But we remain humble. And we remain very conscious of the fact that it can change very quickly. We`ve got to be careful that we don`t get carried away."
"We`ll congratulate ourselves to a moderate extent, but at the same time we realise that there is a lot of football to be played in this league."
"We`re a long way from the 40 points that we`re targeting, and it`s important that we keep our good qualities alive and that we don`t for one minute start to believe that it is going to be an easy task."
I`m sure with Roy at the helm, that`ll be the last thing allowed to happen.
