Baird From Zero to Hero!

Here at Vital Fulham, we`d like to be amongst the first to raise our glasses and offer a toast to somebody who, in the past, has been much maligned.

When the news filtered through that Brede Hangleand would be missing from the starting eleven today, a feeling of panic set in.

Fortunately, it wasn`t necessary.

The much maligned Chris Baird stepped into the breach and gave a performance that made those of us who have often criticised him look very churlish indeed.

The Northern Irish defender looked perfectly at ease and blocked many efforts without any regard for his personal health and never once looked as if he`d let us down.

Chris, we`re sorry mate, it won`t happen again and we hold our heads in shame.

Cottagers have dug out another allotment draw. No pressure on Hodgson now. Just mid table security ... Just a pity there are no perfect blooms to cut

Good for Baird, Good for Fulham:)

i am not a chris baird lover and i thought he would of been sold long ago , but roy must see something in the lad and from that performance against spurs he is right to be staying with fulham, good on you chris keep those performances coming and you will soon win us over

I was disgustingly worried at first when I heard Brede wasn't starting, and even more so when I saw that Baird would be taking his place. However I was proved hugely wrong. For me he was probably Fulham's best player on the field and it's great to see that we have an assett like him on the bench and that he can step in to one of the best defences in the Premier League and do a splendid job
