Hodgson on that Arca Challenge!

Every time I look at it I still wince!

I`m still amazed that Andrew Johnson, after treatment, managed to pick himself up and continue to play.

A little bit of me remains convinced that after Arca was shown only a yellow card that Gareth Southgate done the gentlemanly thing and withdrew his player, at half time, before matters could be made any worse.

Unfortunately, the yellow card means that no retrospective action can be taken against the Middlesbrough player and despite some, at the time, vociferous protests from Roy Hodgson, his experience in the game had allowed him to calm down after the final whistle before giving his opinion on the incident remarking,

"There was no evil intent but it was a bad challenge."

"Arca is lucky the ref saw it for what it was, a bad tackle with a straight leg and not a deliberate attempt to hurt AJ."

Now, can you imagine Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger being so rational about such a challenge?

From where i was sittin it was difficult 2 see the challenge, but when i saw it on telly i just don't know how he hasn't broken his leg! Its brilliant that Hodgson has the experience 2 keep his cool. I would hate to see Roy Keane's reaction if Johnson was his player!
