Moscow Defender on Fulham Menu!

Yesterday goalkeepers were all the rage when it came to transfer rumours for Craven Cottage. Today defenders seem all the rage!

The latest, in a long line, to be linked with Fulham is the Spartak Moscow defender, Martin Stranzl.

The six feet three inches defender, of Austrian descent, is rated in the £1 million bracket and his agent, Thomas Boehm is championing his cause remarking,

''Martin has said before that he is keen to play for one of the top clubs in England and Scotland."

''His goal is to play in the UK. He has had teams looking at him for many years now as he is an experienced international who has all the attributes for the British game.''

It`s understood that the defender still has thirty months left on his contract but the Spartak

General director, Valery Karpin, has hinted that a deal could be on the cards when he remarks,

''If we get offers, everything will depend on conditions of agreement.''

The player himself, has also dropped hints that he could be on the move as he`s quoted as having said,

"I want to get my future sorted out as soon as possible and hopefully this will be the case as I am desperate to play regular football again.''

Perhaps an indication that a deal could be on the cards would be the sight of Roy Hodgson in the crowd at White Hart Lane tonight when the Russian side play Spurs!

It would be a bit weird to see him go to Fulham. No offence lads, but Stranzl is quite valued at Spartak, and I think if he were to move, that would be to a club playing in Europe.

Imagine the sight of two 6ft 3 plus players lining up in the centre of defence for Fulham. Hangeland has used his height superbly this season and I can imagine another tall, top quality defender would make us nigh impenetrable

Nahh, lets pass on this one lads save money by training leijer
Backslash2010
if leijer's development is going somewhere, then by all means keep training him... we're pretty solid in the back now, but if this dude's good and only a mil, why not get him? if he doesn't come to us, maybe some of the bigger clubs will see him as a replacement for when they can't steal brede from the cottage
