Liverpool Join Hunt for Hangeland?

The Brede Hangeland affair took another turn this weekend!

With previous articles having suggested that it was undecided whether the giant Norwegian would stay at Craven cottage or leave, Roy Hodgson stepped forward and re-iterated his desire for the defender to stay but also explained if a food enough deal was proposed, a deal that suited both parties, he`d not stand in Brede`s way.

Well, according to the Sunday People a certain Rafa Benitez is now sniffing around with a view to making a possible transfer swoop. The paper then goes on to suggest that Fulham will not listen to any offers less than £10 million.

So, the questions is, if someone offers that much money is a profit of some £7.5 million, in just over a year, the sort of figure that`d persuade the board to sell?

An intriguing thought I think you`ll agree.

I don`t see the point, he would still have to be replaced, what kind of a club are we if we are going to always have to sell our best players. I know Brede may like to go to a bigger club some time down the line, but is it not too much of a pipe dream to see a player stay at a club for a spell and repay the faith his manager has shown him. It makes me sad that i can welcome Brede to Fulham after last season at the Reebock, get a "thank you" from him and then see him disappear in a flash as soon as a bigger club than us comes along.

7.5 million profit is good but selling him would be a massive mistake, Roy has built the defence around him and he is vital for our good defensive record to continue

There's a reason we're top half of the table and it is not because of Johnson and Zamora lighting up the scoreboard. We have to keep Brede!
