Collins John - A Wasted Talent?

I always used to think that Collins John, our ex-forward, had the ability to go a long way in this wonderful game of ours.

Now I`m quite convinced it`s one of those things that just isn`t going to happen, courtesy of an accumulation of problems including injuries.

Collins joined the Dutch side, NEC, in the summer but frustratingly for the Eredivisie outfit, he`s yet to make his debut thanks to a failure to get match fit after his latest injury.

In fact, his only appearances this season have been two reserve outings, much to the annoyance of the NEC manager, Mario Been who has commented,

'Collins [John] is a great footballer. He shows his class every day in training and he has impressed us with his power and his speed. However, it's a shame that he doesn't have the stamina yet to play with our first team.'

'We were delighted when we signed a class player like him. Therefore, it's very disappointing that we haven't been able to use him. I don't expect him to make his debut before the winter break.'

Like I said, it`s never going to happen.

It is ashame. He has the ability to be a fantastic player! The thing is he knows it, and thinks he's there already! We need more dutch players!!

Hes a decent player with talent, only issue with him i always thought was he had other ideas. He scores a goal and suddenly he starts wearing yellow boots - sign of something if not arrogance. However Danny Hoesen in the academy is looking rather sharp!! And hes dutch ...
