Fulham - The Gomes Affect Lingers On!

The tabloids, despite the onflux of international football, are still focussing on the antics of the Spurs keeper, antics that we witnbessed first hand on Saturday.

Perhaps one of the ideal players to offer an opinion on the erratic Gomes is Erik Nevland.

Our striker has first hand experience of the keeper having played in Holland for several seasons.

Speaking about Gomes who perhaps we should have cheekily entered in our man of the match poll, Nevland had this to say,

'It is quite strange. I played in Holland for many years and Gomes was fantastic for PSV, and now he's doing stuff like this,'

'But I can only say thank you we got the three points. He has stopped a lot of my shots over the years so I am glad he let two in at the weekend."

'I am sure that if he gets his confidence he will be alright.'

Football is a strange sport, in normal life you`d feel sorry for Gomes but his mistakes made on the football pitch continue to make me smile, such is life!
