'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Just How Are We Doing?

Fulham head towards the derby with Spurs this weekend contemplating another win.

If they can achieve that they will have notched up a home double against the two North London sides, a double that should stand them in good stead for the rest of the season.

In fact, if you look at the home form this season it has been more than respectable and it`s from our home base that we should be looking to consolidate.

Speaking about this very subject, Simon Davies has remarked,

'The home games are vital at this stage of the season to pick up the points because the away games get more difficult as the season goes on."

'We beat Arsenal at home early on in the season and we feel confident at Craven Cottage"

But if we`re to do more than simply consolidate this season, we need to be looking at our dreadful away record, a record that has seen us gather just a single point on our travels.

Once again Davies has remarked about such thoughts commenting,

"We need to get that strength away from home because you can't just rely on your home games.'

But we shouldn`t lose fact of the point that the games we have lost have all been close affairs, nobody has out-played us prompting Davies to explain,

'Apart from the Wigan game I think we've won or lost every game by the odd goal.'

'All the teams from the top six down are very similar to be honest. They're all hard-working teams with good strikers who can change games."

'All the matches have been very edgy and very tight and it's been late goals that have won them or lost them."

Like we said earlier this week, things are not quite as you see them!

we are not conceding goals, so that goal difference come the end of season if we are down at the wrong end of the table, will be worth apoint, the league is so tight , could not say who will be down there
