'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Bullard Sensation?

Rumours of Jimmy Bullard wanting a contract extension have been rife for months.

In fact, we`ve more or less accepted, as has Jimmy apparently, that this matter will not be settled for many a month yet.

But, now it seems that the contract unrest was instigated by Jimmy`s agent when Fabio Capello called him up for the England squad.

This would appear to be confirmed in a few quotes, from Roy Hodgson, that are now circulating amongst various news feeds on the internet.

See below,

'When Jimmy made the England squad his agent was very quick, as agents are, to fly forward and say 'my boy is in the squad - I want to tear up that contract and renegotiate."

'But the club wasn't keen to do it, and I've got to say that I'm on the side of the club in this economic time."

'It's very difficult to predict what will happen four years down the line at the moment."

'We've got a player; we were asked by the chief executive to hold fire and assess it - and I've got to say that as far as Jimmy is concerned, it's not been a topic of discussion between us."

So it brings us back to that age old question, are the club right or are the club wrong?
