Fulham - Roy Warning Of A False Dawn!

Can anyone ever remember when the Premier League was so compact, or when so few points separated so many teams?

Already this week we`ve witnessed Newcastle climbing six places on the back of one solitary win, however, a defeat against Fulham tomorrow could see the plunge six places, it really is that tight.

Who could have foreseen Spurs take seven points out of the last nine yet still be bottom?

They`re strange times and in his pre-match interview, held before the clash with Newcastle, Roy Hodgson has spoken about the need not to panic and the need not to be lulled into a false sense of security, when he remarked,

"It could be a totally different bottom three after this weekend and it may then change again the following weekend.'

'What would bother me is being marooned at the bottom of the table."

'It bothered me that when I came to the club we had four hard games ahead of us and by the end of that we were cut adrift at the bottom."

'A good result might lift us into a prematurely false dawn and a defeat might put us into a prematurely false gloom."

'We have to learn to be mentally strong to deal with the situation. A win must not have us think everything's okay, we've cracked it."

'On the other hand, we can't think that because we draw or lose that it's all over for us. That would be ridiculous when it's this close.'

As usual Roy has got it spot on and called it exactly as it is.

Roy is a legend, its common for fans (and especially me!) to over react to a defeat but Roy is as cool as they come. Is Sanchez still on the dole?
donfulham
we are not conceding loads of goals so we must be hard to score against we just need to take our chances , im sure roy knows that and will be working on training days, he is very cool and calm a few wins then all the pressure will be off, we done it last season
