'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Johnson Dreams of England.

A goal for Andrew Johnson up at Goodison Park would, no doubt, have brought a smile to his face. However, it was not to be.

Instead Fulham`s chances, on the day, fell to Bobby Zamora and Zoltan Gera.

AJ, who scored a brace against Wigan, has recently spoken to journalists about his England aspirations remarking,

"I'll be frustrated if I never get another chance but I'll be frustrated with myself.'

'It's down to me and I know I'm capable of doing it. The main thing is playing, and staying sharp and injury-free."

'I've got to be scoring as many goals as Crouchie, Defoe, Owen and Rooney if I want to get in the England squad. "

'Scoring in the Premier League gets harder every year. If you get 15 goals these days you've done pretty well. Defenders are quicker and stronger, strikers get rested and more teams are playing with one up front.

'You don't see six strikers up there all scoring 25 goals any more."

'It's more like 18 or 19 with the odd one who gets 30-plus like Ronaldo.'

So, in your opinion, will AJ get his place back in the England squad or has his time passed?

i agree, unless he gets loads of goals then Fabio will be looking at Young and Agbonlahor of Villa!
Putney
He's not clinical enough for international football, I said that when he played for us and still believe it.
EvertonMike

sdavies25
