'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hodgson - Bullard Needs To Be Spot-On!

The idea is going around the internet that Fulham should give Jimmy Bullard a rest!

Quite where it originated from we have no idea.

Jimmy is the sort of player that would suffer a dip in form if he were to be rested, he`s the sort of player that craves to play football and should be one of the first, if not the first, on Hodgson`s team sheet.

With Wigan arriving in West London for a fixture tomorrow, Roy Hodgson has spoken about Jimmy commenting on Sky Sports News,

'His form has been okay, but when he came back into the team (last season) he came back in with pomp and ceremony and scored a couple of fantastic free-kick goals.'

'That, allied to the fact we were making a miraculous escape from relegation and keeping our place in the Premier League, maybe elevated him to a status that it's not possible to maintain."

'If he wants to kick on and wants to be part of that England team, and be amongst the Lampards and the Gerrards, then he has to accept that this is how it's going to be, and he has to make sure his performances are spot-on in every respect.'

Not sure if heaping that kind of pressure on Jimmy is the sort of man-management he needs or not.
