Fulham - That Free Kick - The Reactions!

I watched that incident again on television last night and even though we only got a point, that incident brought a wry smile to my face.

I still can`t believe that Mr Stroud dealt us a huge favour by penalising Pascal Chimbonda as Kieran Richardson stroked home what looked to be a perfect free kick.

Naturally both managers picked up on the subject with Roy Hodgson and Roy Keane both being very tactful, possibly aware of any FA action they may have incurred with a wrong comment or two.

First up Roy Hodgson,

'Certainly they are going to be complaining after hitting the woodwork and having a goal disallowed for an infringement against the wall.'

Very droll Roy, however, if there were one manager in the Premier League who I`d have thought would blow a fuse after such a decision it would be Roy Keane but Roy too was very mindful of any words out of place, simply remarking,

"We have looked at it again, we should have had a goal and the referee got it wrong."

"I am not going to start swearing and ranting about it because that won`t do any good. It would be a waste of time and energy."

"I can`t go worrying about what happened. I can`t do anything about it."

Whatever happened to that old fire in the belly, has he mellowed so much or are thy both aware of the fact that the referee had previously warned Chimbonda about his antics?

Latics fan here...for almost the same offence we had a player booked (later sent off) and Liverpool were awarded the free kick to be re-taken...consistency? There is none....well done Jimmy though, very funny
