'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham`s Roy Has The Answer?

Technology is a wonderful thing, it never ceases to astound me, manned space flight, wi-fi connections, weapons of mass destruction and all that, it`s amazing!

So why then after developing all these things, as a race, so lacking in common sense?

In fact, it`s taken the wonderful Roy Hodgson, a man of wisdomm. To come up with a plan that is so damned good it shoul h ave been blatantly obvious.

Hopefully, with Roy being a known face around UEFA, his idea will be adopted, so without further hesitation, let`s get on to the idea itself.

Roy, obviously having noticed the glut of injuries that have befallen Premier League clubs this international break, wants the fixtures switched with the first being played on the Wednesday and the second being played on the Saturday, hence giving clubs a full week to address any injuries picked up, or as Roy puts it, in words so much better than mine,

"The only thing which could be done which might be of great advantage to us is an idea I have mooted.'

'Rather than players leaving after their match on a Saturday and then playing their first match on the following Saturday and then the Wednesday, I think it could be good if it was shifted around, so they played at their club teams at the weekend on Saturday or Sunday, and then play on Wednesday for the first game and then play the second game at the weekend."

'It would then give the clubs a full week for recovery and we'd be in a happier state knowing that, if our players did come back with a slight injury, we would have a week to try to put them in some sort of shape.'

Now isn`t that a wonderful idea but so full of common sense it almost deserves to be taken on board immediately?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
