Fulham - Pantsil Offers an Apology

Apart from the sending off of Andrew Johnson on Saturday, the other contentious incident, on an eventful afternoon, involved Jon Pantsil.

The defender, playing against his old club, was unfortunate to tread on the West Ham keeper, Robert Green, when he saved a Jimmy Bullard free kick.

The incident saw Green receive a facial wound as well as an arm injury, however, it looked innocuous and Pantsil has been quick to offer Green an apology, remarking,

'I am very sorry for what happened because I did not mean to do it. The West Ham fans were very good to me last season. I welcomed them to Fulham and I hope they can forget this. I still love them.'

He also joined Roy Hodgson in defending Andrew Johnson remarking,

'It was not the right decision to send him off.'

'It was a big blow. We were at home and the referee should respect that. He didn't. I think the ref did well over all.' It was a derby. But the red card to Andy Johnson I was very disappointed with.'

Although the red card was regrettable, we here at Vital Fulham thought Andrew was lucky to escape a red card for his first challenge.

I never liked Lucas Neill when he was at Blackburn - shady geezer if you ask me!

Pantsil's reaction should only endear him more to the fans. Gives it his all and is a good sport about it. He apologized. I believe him.

when you see the replay on tv he was trying to step over the goal keeper so no apology required, one of those things that happens when goalkeepers dive at players feet

Pantsil is already a legend in my opinion, how is Stoor going to get a game the way Pantsil is playing?
