Hodgson Downgrades Carling Cup!

Hodgson Downgrades Carling Cup!

It`s a matter of only a few hours to kick off but already I`m a little anxious.

I`ve just read in the Evening Standard, as the tube train meandered towards my desirable residence, that Roy Hodgson has prioritised the forthcoming games and that the clash with West Ham subsequently sits a lot higher in his thoughts than the Carling Cup clash tonight at Burnley.

The actual wording of the quote being, with regard t selecting some fringe players,

"We need to see what they can do and I prioritise Saturday`s game against West Ham over this one."

Therefore we can expect to see the likes of Teymourian, Baird, Kallio and Nevland in the starting eleven.

Let`s hope they`re up to the job or else it`s another Wembley dream down the pan!
