'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - One Strange Quote Roy?

The disappointment of losing at Blackburn still lingers even though we should be looking towards our trip to Burnley tomorrow evening.

Before we do though, perhaps we should look at the words of Roy Hodgson after our narrow defeat at Ewood Park.

Roy, after such a bright start - our best in five seasons, would naturally have been disappointed and his first few comments try to put a positive spin on things commenting,

'I think the team is stronger. We showed that for long periods.'

'We have moved on and we're trying hard to be solid defensively as well and the spirit amongst the team, the way they want to work with each other, is very good.'

All admirable stuff but then comes a one line quote that contradicts everything we'd been hoping for this season, one line that suggests any hopes of this year not being like the last two are way off line.

See what you think,

'I can only hope that it will be enough for us to stay in the league come the end of the season.'

Whatever happened to the positive spin Roy?

After spending so much money all we can hope is that the quote has been taken slightly out of context by those who reported it.
