Wayne back to Bridge the gap

Wayne Bridge could make a shock injury comeback against Everton tomorrow.

The on-loan Chelsea left-back injured his ankle ligaments during England's World Cup warm-up game against Paraguay eight days ago.

It was feared that Bridge could be out for a considerable amount of time as he was still returning to full fitness after severely injuring himself playing for Chelsea last season.

But Fulham assistant-manager Steve Kean has announced the surprise news that Bridge could be back in the squad as early as tomorrow and possibly play against Everton.

Kean and manager Chris Coleman will be hoping he can sure up the defence against Everton after the side got hit for four at home to Arsenal last weekend.

Kean said: “Wayne Bridge has got a good chance which is great news.

“When he first got injured in the England game we thought it would be a number of weeks but he's progressed and pushed himself really hard.”

We looked disorganised and worse than dreadful last week against Arsenal. Maybe he will bring a bit of maturity to the side. After Arsenal they need something
