'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Bargain Clear-Out Time!

As the closure of the transfer window fast approaches, Roy Hodgson, after signing Dickson Etuhu, is looking to trim his squad.

This morning the Sunday tabloids are carrying a story that both Alexei Smertin and Collins John are free to leave Craven Cottage on free transfers in order to trim the wage bill.

As of yet, Roy has had no offers for either player and has reportedly remarked,

"It`s not as if we`re asking for any money for Smertin."

"It`s just no-one has made any enquiries for him - the same goes for John."

Has the credit crunch hit football or are their current salaries too off-putting for any potential suitors?

Your thoughts please!

I can't believe we can't attract an offer for either? Puzzling!

Bit disappointed that neither are going to get a chance. I have always rated John and hope he would get more of a chance. specially under roy

Collins John is on £20k a week in wages. Who ever is going to take him off our hands will probably have to stump up £10-15k a week and that will put a lot of Championship clubs off. Plus, he's a tw*t so that doesn't exactly make him more attractive

"Fulham striker Collins John has joined Dutch side NEC Nijmegen on a free transfer. " Good riddance. He needs to clean up his act. What a waste of talent

Looks like they've both found new homes now!
Putney
got to say it was a surprise but fair play to him.

reckon CJ n smertin did play well for us years ago but they r now backup players under RH n their total wage bill of more than £40k a week maybe too much
genuch
