Set for Valencia raid!

Fulham are understood to be chasing Hedwiges Maduro after the 23-year old Dutch midfielder was told he is not in Valencia's plans.

The Dutch midfielder only moved to Mestalla in January after Ronald Koeman signed him from Ajax, but new coach Unai Emery has already decided that he is not part of his plans.

While the 23-year-old did not understand the decision, given that he has had so few chances to prove himself, he understands that he must now look for a new club.

A loan deal with a view of a permanent is available for Maduro and Hodgson is keen to move in.

Valencia striker Nikola Zigic is also thought to be a target for Roy after Valencia declared he can go out on a similar deal as Maduro.

I have rated Maduro ever since he broke into the Ajax team and would celebrate his arrival if he was to come, a real class player. He is strong, quick and intelligent. Zigic would also be a welcomed addition as he would add a new dimension to our striking options.

Well it sounds like the right direction for us to be heading. Young players who have proven themselves at a high level. Roy seems to bring out the best in players and it would be great to see him bring in a few more faces! Who will be Roy's lucky 13th signing?

always gd to bring in fresh blood who will add values to our current squad. Zigic s sort of towering striker i reckon he will also be a real threat for us in EPL, it makes me recall my memory that there was a tall Norwegian striker who refused joining us by saying he had never heard of us Whites when we tried to bring him in a long time ago. reckon Zigic s far more better get him loan or permanent before 1 Sep if he wishes to join us

Maduro is a quality player. Has Champions league experience at Ajax too - would be really excited to have him on board

I really hope we get both. The young south african has had his work permit rejected.
