'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Eddie Johnson - #1 Cardiff City Fan!

Don`t you just love it when players talk up a move to another club?

Instead of poignantly reflecting on where it went wrong at the club they are leaving they spout on about the merits and virtues of joining another club.

The latest to fall into this category is our American forward Eddie Johnson.

Johnson, as we all know, has gone on loan to Championship side, Cardiff City.

Johnson who failed to score in six appearances for Fulham after being signed for £1.5 million, obviously tried to impress the Cardiff City followers by commenting,

"I learned a lot about Cardiff City because I followed their FA Cup exploits all the way."

"That was one of the reasons, when Cardiff City wanted me to join them on loan, I was so keen."

"From what I`ve seen, this is an ambitious club with a great manager in Dave Jones and a great bunch of players.

"This club enjoyed success last season and there is more to come. I want to be a part of that."

"Premiership football is the best in the world - and I still believe I can score goals at that level," said Johnson.

"But I was in a difficult situation at Fulham because I wasn`t playing matches regularly. Cardiff City have given me the chance to show what I can do and I can`t wait to get started.

"Cardiff are a club I followed a lot last season when they reached the FA Cup final and they have offered me a fantastic opportunity."

Many would imply that last season was a flash in the pan for the Welsh side Eddie!

I reckon you`ll not score double figures down in Wales - anyone care to differ!

Seems like a good bloke and the loan will do him good!

He is a good guy and your article point is crap. He is just being optimistic about his loan, can you really blame him for that?
gunnerkid107
yes! cos he did feck all for us!

I do not see Eddie making a successful return to the Prem. I wish they'd stop calling him up for the US national team. I will not fault him for trying to be positive about the move though. He might do well against the lesser competition of the Championship.

He showed some promising moments against blackburn and Everton last season, needs alot of work doing with him!

Well, I hope the bloke improves, he has a lot of pace, but needs to work on a lot to be premiership class. His first touch is truly awful. Hopefully together on the site we can all keep an eye on him and let everyone else know how he's getting on.

it would be mad to say anything else, especially when the press pick up on every indiscretion. Give him a break, at least he's not content to sit in the stands picking up his wage.....

still reckon EJ s a gd lad who will progress n make it in EPL for us. when he arrived from US it was expected he c'd immediately giv us solutions to the striking problem last season but seems he needs bit more time to adapt to a new life. also he was played out of position in right wing when we field 4-5-1 last season. this season we hav AJ + BZ in front n certainly he s bit out of favour but he s still young, explosive n eager to score goals i do hope he will largely improve his play n persuade RH to recall him in Jan!
genuch
i dont think he will be back will still have nevland and jo when he is fit so he will still be down the pecking order
