Brede Hangeland ended Fulham's 14 match winless run in London derbies as his 21st minute goal was enough to ensure the points stayed at Craven Cottage.

It's enough to make any manager smile, however Roy Hodgson admitted the performance could have been better. Despite controlling the game for long periods, the Fulham boss believes his side struggled after 70 minutes, in which Danny Murphy ran the show for the home side.

Delighted at the result, Hodgson paid tribute to Mark Schwarzer making his home debut, as the tall Australian denied the Gunners' with some confident keeping.
