Fulham - Let`s Not Get Carried Away!

Fulham - Let`s Not Get Carried Away!

It`s a great feeling waking up, the win over Arsenal, yesterday, has put an extra spring in our step as we contemplate another rain-sodden Bank Holiday.

But, and this is a crucial factor, we shouldn`t get carried away with the win.

Sure we were good and at time we made Arsenal look second rate but on another day we may look as good and still end up on the losing side. That`s football as they say.

Speaking after the game, to Setanta Sports, Roy Hodgson was quick to re-iterate the main ambition for this season, staying up and had this to say,

"Our ambitions for the season must remain the same; we have got to try and stay in this league."

"This is a very tough league to stay in; we have seen already with Stoke winning, Hull beating us, the so-called bottom teams are taking points already."

"We have got to be modest and humble and we know we have got to work as hard as we did today in every game to get a result, whether you are playing the Arsenal or one of the teams who are being tipped for relegation."

"If we can get that into our thick skulls then we stand half a chance."

"I thought the quality of our passing and movement matched the Arsenal`s and I`m really delighted about that because if you get anywhere near to matching the Arsenal that is something you have to be very proud of."

If anyone can keep the players level-headed then its Roy, wouldn`t you agree?

I won't get carried away but wouldn't it be nice to make Craven Cottage something of a fortress!

"Working hard" is the key here, there is no room or time to pussyfoot around or play like a training session. Every game has to be our cup final whether it`s that lot down the road or the new boys we are playing. No room whatsoever for complacency.

Well now, that was much better; the guys stuck to the task of not conceding in the last quarter of the match and it has resulted in 3pts. I share your view martintheveg, we need to treat all games with equal respect and not just turn it on for the big guns. Wins like this are a bonus, as long as we beat the other teams fighting relegation.

They are just so much more level headed under Roy. There was a bit of panic at the end but that used to lose us the game whereas now there is that structure that will just keep us from conceding late goals that ruin a season. I though we showed some serious grit and I think that's the kinda attitude that will give us our best season since Chrissy Coleman

Imagine, get Cookies home record and Roys away record together in one season!! would be lovely!

well say! reckon there s a great chance we can get a result against most of the 'very best teams' under uncle roy a specialist who can deal with the most difficult games for us, n aye, make sure we beat the bottom six too COYW
