'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Read and Take Heed.

If anyone is in any doubt about the importance of getting off to a good start on Saturday they need only look at how we sunk so quickly into the mire last season.

In 2007-2008 we lost three of our first four matches and only managed to win one out of our first eleven, that being a 2-1 defeat of Bolton Wanderers in August 2007.

Our problems were then compounded by a lack of a clear goal scorer with our top scorer only notching six goals in all competitions. The fact that we had four players who scored six was of no assistance as the goals of David Healy, Diomansy Kamara and Danny Murphy were spread over several competitions, only Clint Dempsey scored all his six in the Premier League.

All this combined to ensure that we finished in our lowest Premier League position ever and also amassed our lowest points total ever in the Premier League, a mere 36!

Now let's get the 2008-2009 season off to a start with a win at Hull!
