Hodgson / Johnson Press Conference!

Listening to the 'Andy Johnson` press conference on Sky Sports News has proven to be an interesting experience.

With Andy sitting by his side Roy gave a valuable insight into how the transfer has progressed.

He dismissed a lot of the speculation relating to a supposed old injury affecting the deal and merely suggested that a player of Johnson`s calibre, who has played so often, is bound to have some sort of record with record to injuries considering the knocks that are picked up during a career.

He also denied that a Fulham medical is any more stringent than any other club merely implying that a club like Fulham, when spending such a large sum of money, has to be careful that everything is done properly.

With regards to his arrival meaning that there could be a departure amongst the forwards, Roy suggested that was not the case. But he did leave things slightly open he pointed out that those who have fallen further down the pecking order may well decide that they need to take advantage of the possible limited opportunities available to them and may seek talks of some sort.

All in all an interesting interview I`d say!

well this saturday i guess we will see how AJ does and plays with the rest of the team.

Would be really sad to see Healy depart. His ability both to steal goals and to win free kicks around the box is a huge asset. But, he needs a front man to plan with, which McBride offered, not sure how he would fit in alongside BZ or AJ. Nevland was v. useful last season but not sure that he's a better benchwarmer than Healy.

I don't expect to see AJ playing at the Torino game, but it would be great if he makes an appearance off the subs bench! CJ and Healy should go. EJ doesn't look like he's up to the premiership from what we've seen of him, but he is young, athletic, and maybe he'll come good with some expert coaching? That'll leave us with Zamora, Johnson, Nevland, EJ, Kamara, and possibly Dempsey at a push to fill the striking spots. I can't remember the last time we had more than just one decent striker at the club

gotta admit I'm excited about the new season!
