In our last poll, I tried to gauge where you, our wonderful readership, thought we`d finish the 2008-2009 Premier League season.
I gave you six options with some of them possibly pure fantasy, like finishing in the top four. Unfortunately 4% were either having a laugh or came home drunk and voted for that option.
I know Roy is doing a wonderful job but that would be expecting too much wouldn`t it? Optimism gone wild!
On a similar vein, I had to laugh at the 20% who opted for the bottom option. Do they seriously think we`re worse than the likes of Hull and Stoke? It wouldn`t surprise me if it was that lot from down the other end of the Fulham Road were sticking their oar into our poll.
Therefore, on paper, the six options probably had a mere four that were realistic although, in all honesty, finishing between 5th and 8th would be like living a dream, but it`s a dream 5% of you believe is possible.
Perhaps a more realsitic target is the one that received the most votes, finishing between 9th and 12th which received 33% of the vote. Now, finishing between 9th and 12th would, in my opinion, represent a good season, it would prove that Roy has purchased well and that the club have consolidated.
In fact, finishing between 13th and 16th, as 28% of you predicted wouldn`t be too bad, that is unless we were required to pull off another great escape in the not so merry months of April and May!
Sadly, finishing between 17th and 19th would represent something akin to failure, just scraping by after yet another splash of the cash!
So let`s be bold, let`s go with the majority and declare now that our club will finish between 9th and 12th - just like you predict!
