Defensive solution: My idea!!

Well the reason why Hughes and Big H work so well is that Hughes compliments the big-H, he is quicker, less cumbersome and is an intelligent player.

The Big-H is a very intelligent player, who enjoys playing the ball out a defence. However he lacks pace and he can get caught out there. Due to this fact there were many times that we saw Hughes covering Hangeland. However it wasn't the case that Brede gave up on the chase, as Hughes moved across to chase down the attacking player Brede moved across to cover the other attacker. This Understanding between the two of them was one of the reason's our defence did so well at the end of the season.

So the point I am getting to is that we need to get a defender with similar qualities of Hughes and not Hangeland. Simunic is a good defender, however he is almost identical to Brede, he isn't the quickest but again he is big and intelligent.

Hughes and Hangeland premier league defensive duo however the fact we have very little, if any, back up is very worrying.

So in conclusion I would not like to have Big-H and Simunic playing together, however I do suggest Roy looks at a player with the name of Ron Vlaar. He is everything Hughes is but bigger, stronger and quicker. He is the Holland U-21 captain and is currently at fayenoord.

What you think guys? Have I cracked it?

why is he pretty good or something?
boca3
He is 6-foot-21/2. Quick, Strong, intellegent and only 23 years old and has all the ability to be a top notch CB.
