Fulham to Release Smertin!

Fulham to Release Smertin!

After having let so many players leave this summer, it was almost puzzling that our Russian midfielder, Andrei Smertin, was kept on.

I don't mean to be rude to the guy or anything but after having played what could be considered less than a bit part last season, I couldn't see where he'd fit into Roy Hodgson's side this season.

Therefore, I can't say I'm surprised to read in The Sun this morning that the Russian has, supposedly, been told he can leave on a free transfer!

Charlton should've bought him, he fit there perfectly. He used to be a great player, what the hell happened to him?

I thought he was good for us then he got injured. I was looking forward to him pushing his way into the team. But I guess if Grella is on his way then he'll be 4th choice DMF!!!
