Fulham Target Luke Young?

After announcing the signing of West Ham United duo Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil, the tabloids are rife that Roy Hodgson has another defender in his sights.

The man in question is the ex-England international, Luke Young.

Young, ex-Charlton but currently playing for Middlesbrough, is being nominated as a possible signing, for £3.5 million, to become our new right back.

Whilst accepting that Young has all the credentials to do a decent job for us, us puzzled gents at Vital Fulham are a little perplexed.

After all, we've just spent the last forty-eight hours convincing ourselves that Pantsil would, for £1.5 million of that £6.5 million double swoop fee, be the man for that position.

We can only suggest that the signing of Young is nothing but paper talk or that £1.5 million is the going rate, these days, for defensive cover or somebody decent to fill up those seven substitutes places allocated t Premier League sides next season!

Im sure I saw hodgson carefully say pantsil would be good cover!

The guys at TiFF are also confussed with this. Come to the conclusion Pantsil will be cover for right wing, with young and Stoor (set to sign 2moz) at RB

Agree with boca3,I'll never understand why Volz isn't first choice! But I thought Paintsil was bought as a centreback/rightback cover rather than a dedicated rightback? But with Volz obviously out of favour, Baird being completely incompetent and our youngster off on loan to Norwich we would need at least two quality right back candidates to fight it out. So Paintsil and Luke Young would be perfect! I'd be very happy if we got him personally.
