With the ink still drying on the transfer forms of Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil, Fulham supporters are, according to comments we've received, split about the signings.
Many consider it to be a huge sum of money for a striker that has been deemed surplus to requirements at West Ham United whilst others have demanded to know why we've been so keen to recruit players who a near-rival doesn't consider good enough for their side.
Obviously, all transfers can be emotive affairs, public opinion will always be diverse. But it is our job as supporters to get behind the team and as such to welcome any new players to the squad.
After both Zamora and Pantsil had committed to joining Fulham, Roy Hodgson was quick to comment on the signings, commenting,
'I am very pleased that we have been able to add both Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil to our squad. Bobby is a talented striker who not only has a desire to score goals but always looks to involve the rest of the team with his intelligent play. I have no doubt that Bobby will play an important part for us and his quality has allowed us to strengthen our attacking options.'
'John has a versatility that will provide us with more defensive options, which is extremely important to the strength and depth we have in the squad. Completing both signings has been a protracted process which has been much speculated about in the media, I am delighted that we can now officially welcome the players to the Club, following the completion of all of the necessary paperwork.'
As the last word on the subject, we here at Vital Fulham would like to throw our support behind these two lads, after all, when does Roy get it wrong in the transfer market? Very rarely we'd suggest!
