Vital Fulham Interviews: oranje_emu

I'll start the ball rolling...

1 - How long have you been a Fulham fan and how did you get the bug?
5 or 6 years now I think. I came to england from South Africa in 1998 not knowing anything about the clubs except Man Utd! Then at my school I joined in a game of football and the team i got picked for called themselves Arsenal. When everyone started saying they were Viera, Petit, etc being as my mother is Dutch I asked if Arsenal had any Dutch players to which I was called Bergkamp (or as I remember hearing it Burger camp). I then "supported" Arsenal for a few years. As my love for the game increased I got moved from striker to Goalkeeper in my local team, and so soon adopted Van Der Sar as my hero. This was the reason I started to support Fulham, however I have fallen deeply in love with the club ever since.

2 - What was your first game?
Fulham Vs Arsenal 4th March, we lost 4-0 but I got free tickets for winning the mascot competition. Plus I got to see Bergkamp in action, but had to wait till the next season to see Van Der Sar!!

3 - What is your most memorable moment as a Fulham fan?
The 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Cottage. I was a ball boy that evening and it was amazing! Also had a verbal confrontation with Flamini!

4 - And the worst moment?
Home game against Derby, I sat in the riverside stand for the first time, and it was horrible! The Derby fans were out-singing us by far! The game was terrible and never had I been so keen to leave the Cottage, South Africa winning the Rugby World Cup that evening made up for it though! The Sunderland game at home was also a very bad time, I almost cried!

5 - Who are your favourite current Fulham players?
Bullard, Davies and Collins John.

6 - Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?
Big Eddy. Just a hero and insperation to me.

7 - Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?
From the games I have seen, ummm..Chris Baird, or lastuvka

8 - What is the best goal you have seen Fulham score and which is your favourite game?
Collins Johns volley against Boro is the best I have seen. Again the home win against Arsenal was pretty special, Pompey game of course for obvious reasons.

9 - Best away ground visited?
Villa Park is quite nice.

10 - Who would you like to see Fulham sign this summer?
Someone Dutch. Klass Jan Huntelaar would be a dream! Or even Van Der Vaart! But thats all they will ever be, dreams! Makaay would be more realistic and just as good!

11 - What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League: Top half finish!
b)Carling Cup: Final
c) Fa Cup: Semi-Final

12 - What is your opinion of Roy Hodgson?
Love him! Couldn`t ask for a better manager! Roy is the man.

13 - What is your opinion of MAF?
He loves Fulham just as much as we do. His two sons do too, in fact one is a star of the deaf team! Al Fayed Woooh

14 - Are you happy to stay at the Cottage or is it time to move on?
Stay, can`t imagine us anywhere else.

15 - Where do you sit at the Cottage and are you a season ticket holder?
Hammy end, H5 row bb seat 129

16 - If you could invite 4 people connected to Fulham, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be?
Johnny Haynes- a real gent who I`m sure has alot to say.
Edwin Van Der Sar- So I can meet my hero in person.
Roy Hodgson- same kind of reason as Haynes, plus I can give him a few tips and hints :-P
MAF- He`ll provide the entertainment (and food :-P).
